Did Death Battle get it right or wrong?: Ryu vs Scorpion
This is a series of blogs where I look at somewhat controversial episodes of Death Battle. Today is Ryu vs Scorpion. Scorpion Hanzo Hisashi was born in Japan to a member of the famed Shirai Ryu clan. His father, who was an assassin for the clan, forbade Hanzo from ever joining. When Hanzo became older, he didn't listen to his father's words. He joined the Shirai Ryu and even had a family, a wife named Harumi and a son named Satoshi. He was an expert with a kunai spear and this mastery earned him the nickname Scorpion. But, his father's words would come to fruition. One day,the rival assassin clan known as the Lin Kuei attacked the Shirai Ryu, killing every member. Of the casualties included Harumi, Satoshi, and Hanzo himself, all killed by the Lin Kuei's best warrior Sub-Zero. Hanoz's soul was sent to the Netherrealm and caught the attention of necromancer Quan Chi. In exchange for his services, Quan Chi would resurrect Hanzo's family. He...
