Did Death Battle get it right or wrong?: Ryu vs Scorpion

This is a series of blogs where I look at somewhat controversial episodes of Death Battle. Today is Ryu vs Scorpion.

Scorpion

Hanzo Hisashi was born in Japan to a member of the famed Shirai Ryu clan. His father, who was an assassin for the clan, forbade Hanzo from ever joining. When Hanzo became older, he didn't listen to his father's words. He joined the Shirai Ryu and even had a family, a wife named Harumi and a son named Satoshi. He was an expert with a kunai spear and this mastery earned him the nickname Scorpion. But, his father's words would come to fruition. One day,the rival assassin clan known as the Lin Kuei attacked the Shirai Ryu, killing every member. Of the casualties included Harumi, Satoshi, and Hanzo himself, all killed by the Lin Kuei's best warrior Sub-Zero. Hanoz's soul was sent to the Netherrealm and caught the attention of necromancer Quan Chi. In exchange for his services, Quan Chi would resurrect Hanzo's family. He found his way to his killer at the first Mortal Kombat tournament. He wished to face Sub-Zero and when he did, dragged him down to the Netherrealm. Raiden, the Elder God of Thunder, told Scorpion to not kill Sub-Zero. But, Quan Chi filled Scorpion's head with memories of the tragedy. He then killed Sub-Zero by ripping out his spine and burning him. He was summoned to the next Mortal Kombat tournament by Sub-Zero, but this one was his younger brother Kuai Liang. Kuai defeated Hanzo,but was taken out by Lin Kuei cyborgs before he could kill him. Scorpion was freed from Quan Chi's control when Johnny Cage and Sonya attacked the necromancer's palace. When he was defeated, the control wore off on Sub-Zero, Jax, both died to Sindel, and Scorpion. All were now human again. Because of his actions he'd done as Quan Chi's slave, he was upset until Kenshi let him train his son Takeda. Eventually, Scorpion would be invited to the Lin Kuei temple by Kuai Liang, as he had dound out the truth about what happened to Bi-Han and the Shirai Ryu. But, before Sub-Zero could explain, his student Frost, who was not pleased by the peace talks, ambushed Scorpion. Hanzo attacked the grandmaster, thinking he was being betrayed. After defeating Sub-Zero, Frost attacked again, only for Sub-Zero to stop her, reinforcing that he didn't want to bring any harm. He then showed Hanzo Sektor's cyber memories, as Sektor, now a cyborg, was killed by Sub-Zero before MKX. The memories showed that Bi-Han was innocent the entire time and that Quan Chi and Sektor were working together. 5 years later, Scorpion found Quan Chi, who was captured by the Special Forces. He was to help revive the revenants such as Liu Kang, Nightwolf, Kabal, Stryker, Kitana, Jade, and Kung Lao. But, Scorpion fought his way through to his former master. After battling him, he beheaded Quan Chi, not before Shinnok, the fallen Elder God, was unleashed. He later helps Sub-Zero deactivate the new Cyber Lin Kuei facility built for Kronika's army. After this, he meets his past self when finding Kharon in order to help Liu Kang, Raiden, Sub-Zero, and the others to find Kronika, Shinnok's mother who was upset over her son's death. However, during a brawl with D'Vorah, Hanzo was killed by the insect and died, leaving his past self to tell the others of his death.

Ryu

Ryu was an orphan that was dropped off at a Dojo and trained by the owner of the Dojo, Gouken in the martial art known as the Ansatsuken (Assassin's Fist) alongside his best friend Ken.

One day, Ryu came back to the Dojo to find that Goken was murdered by Gouken's brother Akuma. On that day, Ryu swore to himself that he would get strong enough to beat Akuma.

Techniques

Ryu

Hadouken

The Hadouken let's Ryu shoot little fireballs from his hands, It's his signature technique, and the most iconic fighting game move.

Tatsumaki Senpukyaku

Or named Hurricane kick. Ryu spins his legs so fast, it looks like he's hovering. Makes him look like a living helicopter.

Shoryuken

Or named the rising dragon fist. It's a strong uppercut, that launches the opponent high up into the air.

Parry

With extreme precision, Ryu can parry just about any attack.

Evil Ryu

This form makes Ryu loses all self-control and goes beserk. It transformation allows him to use the raging demon.

The power of Nothingness

This allows Ryu to finally get full control and contain the evil within. This is Ryu's most powerful state.

Techniques

Scorpion

"Get over here"

Scorpion takes out his chain, throws it at you and says "Get over here" pretty iconic TBH.

Toasty!

 Scorpion takes off his mask and just starts spraying you with fire. It's very toasty!

Sword

He got a cool sword.

 

Netherrealm

While in the Netherrealm, Scorpion get's stronger. It's stated multiple times.

Teleportation

Scorpion can teleport anywhere he wants. He uses this for surprise attacks. Or dragging his opponents to hell. Both options work.

 Duplication

For one of his Fatalities in MK2. Scorpion sends you into the Netherrealm and makes over 10 clones of himself. 

Penguin

He can turn into a penguin, it's pretty cool.

Cooking

Scorpion is actually a really good cook. He's even cooked with Freddy Krueger, what a lad!

THE VERDICT

ᵛᵉʳᵈⁱᶜᵗ ᵗⁱᵐᵉ 

For strength, Scorpion has a massive advantage in that department. Beating Raiden and killing Bi-Han proved that he a was soild top-tier in MK. So he's a planet buster, and can even be scaled higher and we're gonna get into that now.

COSMIC MK

yeah, cosmic MK is a thing and I have to talk about it now. Sub-Zero stating that the Netherrealm is Infinite. Ed Boon saying Earthrealm has a structure beyond our Solar System. While there have been debunks. Those debunks got debunked so uhhh cope,seethe,mald. If you still don't believe it, well start reading bitch.

People like Shao Kahn are able to merge these realms. Making them Solar System- Universal.

For speed, Scorpion scales to timeless voids feats. Which are Immeasurable WAAAAAAAAAAAAY faster than Ryu. If Scorpion really wanted to end it as fast as possible. He can just makes clones of himself to gang on Ryu like an Italian mob.

Like, I kinda wanna ramble more, but there's not much to say. Scorpion stomps pretty easily.
