Did Death Battle get it right or wrong?: Rogue vs Wonder Woman

*Thumbnail made by Granbull*

This is a series of blogs where I look at somewhat controversial episodes of Death Battle. To see if the verdicts right or not Today is Rogue vs Wonder Woman. Can I just say real quick, why have people been arguing this since 2007? Like out of all the Matchups, just why?

Background

Rogue

Anna Marie, the girl who would become Rogue, ran away from home at an early age after bristling under the controlling nature of her aunt Carrie. Mystique encountered Anna Marie after she had embraced her "Rogue" nickname, and essentially adopted her alongside Destiny, Mystique's pre-cognitive mutant lover. Before long, Rogue's mutant powers manifested for the first time when she kissed a boy named Cody and left him comatose. Eventually, Rogue realized she could never have a normal life and accepted her role in Mystique's Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. Rogue fought with Ms. Marvel during one of her early Brotherhood missions, and without intending to, she permanently absorbed her foe's memories and powers.

Shortly thereafter, Rogue and the Brotherhood attacked the Avengers and nearly defeated them. Rogue went on to menace heroes such as Dazzler, the X-Men, and one of the Spaceknights, as Carol Danvers' ongoing presence in her mind quickly eroded her sanity. With no one else to turn to who could help her, Rogue approached the X-Men and their mentor, Professor Charles Xavier. Over the objections of his other students (and a very violent objection from Danvers herself), Xavier allowed Rogue to join the team.

Despite their early misgivings, the X-Men came to accept Rogue after she put herself on the line to save Wolverine's fiancée, Mariko Yashida, and Colossus. Over time, Rogue became one of the most trusted X-Men, and has gone on to both join and lead the Avengers Unity Squad.

Wonder Woman

Legend told Diana of Themiscyra was born of her mother's strong desire for a child, a lump of clay brought to life in the form of a girl; the perfect Amazon, as she was born of no man. The truth, though, was that Queen Hippolyta had had an affair with Zeus, and Diana's real parentage was hidden in order to protect the Queen and her daughter from the wrath of Zeus' notoriously jealous wife Hera. Unbeknownst to Diana, her mother also gave birth to her twin, a brother named Jason. A third child, Grail, would be born to an Amazon on Themyiscyra that stormy evening; half divine, like Diana and Jason, but with a significantly less glorious father: Darkseid. Grail, spirited from the island by her mother, Myrina, would one day grow to be a dangerous enemy to Diana, and to all Amazons.

Equipment

Wonder Woman

Lasso of truth
Diana's lasso of truth Makes anyone it ties up to tell the truth no matter what. Though the Lasso has other abilities, like it being  infinite in length and strength. It's strong enough to pull the earth, this Lasso is capable of wrapping around souls and binding them. Also it can be used for some epic Soul BDSM. Diana once made someone live out their entire life. Driving him to suicide..metal. The lasso can be used for mind control, and can free beings from Mind control.

Bracelets of Submission
(Kinky)
These Bracelets are a sign of the pain and suffering their people were victim to when under the rule of Hercules. Even after Hercules stopped controlling them, they kept the bracelets to remind them of his oppression. Diana's bracelet's have been modified, having here's be the toughest at of all the Amazon's. It can Conjure forcefields, block lighting from Zues and can even summon lighting. When Diana takes these Bracelets off her full god powers are unlocked.

Gauntlets of Atlas and Sandals of Hermes
These items increase Diana's strength & speed by 10.

Sword of Hephaestus

Given by Hephaestus, this sword can cut Atoms.

Godwave Sword
This sword contains the power of the godwave. Making it strong enough to kill people with type 4 Immortality like Ares.

Tiara
In the first, the tiara was the last item Princess Diana had to earn to become Wonder Woman. Guided by Queen Hippolyta, she swam to Xor Isle without her already conquered items (the Golden Lasso, the Bullet-Proof Bracelets and the Amazon Earrings) and faced the monsters of the island that protected the Talking Tiara, also called the Linguagraph Tiara.

Thanks to this tiara Diana was able to understand any language of the past, present and future and would be used as another instrument to achieve peace through dialogue.

Lighting of Zues
Created by Zues, Diana can summon lighting from her bracelets so strong it shatters mountains. She can use it to revive the dead.

Shield
This greek shield is shown to be very durable. Tanking hits from Superman tier foes.

Golden Armor
This Golden Armour was designed by Pallas and given to Wonder Woman as a gift. Diana usually uses this as a last resort, so it's not used often. It's immune to magic, electricity, fire and most importantly bullets because Diana is able to get pierced by bullets... because comics.

Morphing Disk

This Disk can transform into multiple things Diana needs, like an Invisible plane... which is kinda useless now since Diana can now fly. Anyway this thing is super durable not even Superman and Wonder Woman herself can hurt this thing. For speed, this thing breaks the time barrier, which is.....ok

Invisible Plane
Not much to say, it's an plane that's invisible.

Equipment

Rogue

Dump truck of an Ass
Lol I had to mention this at least like once.

Abilities

Wonder Woman

Divine heritage
Due to being half God/Half Amazon she has abilities no other amazon has. has hearing way better then the average person, same with eyesight, strength see through Illusions etc etc.

Flight
Wonder Woman can fly extreme fast distances. Able to fly at lightspeed and even higher.

Longevity
Diana can live way longer than the average person, up too thousands of years.

Healing Factor
Diana is able heal devasting wounds. Able to survive Organ failure, head trauma etc.

Wisdom of Athena
Diana is the most wise of the JLA, multilingual, able to speak tons of languages. She's one of the most strategic members of the JLA, only really behind Batman of course.

Empathy
Diana is able to sense emotions, and even talk to animal's.

Master Hand-to-hand combatant
Trained by the Amazon's,and fucking I-Chung the best DC Character don't @ me. Diana is the most skilled of the JLA.  Batman's said it himself.

Telapathy
Wondy can communicate with people with her mind.

She's even immune from psychic attacks from Maxwell lord.

Abilities
Rogue

Power absorption
Rogue's mutant ability requires skin-to-skin contact to absorb memories, powers, personality traits, physical talents, and strength. For most of her heroic career, Rogue was unable to control her power, and anyone she touched would almost immediately fall unconscious. However, Rogue's inability to regulate her power was largely psychological in nature, which she eventually overcame with the help of Charles Xavier. For a short time, she was able to take abilities from humans and mutants without harming them.

When infused with Danvers', the original Ms. Marvel powers, Rogue had super strength, flight, and she was nearly invulnerable to poisons and physical trauma. Rogue also inherited Ms. Marvel's precognitive "seventh sense," but she was never able to fully utilize it. Rogue briefly retained Sunfire's abilities to control fire, and she has ongoing access to Wonder Man's super strength, flight, and a degree of invulnerability from his ionic energy. Unfortunately, Rogue's new powers have once again rendered her unable to control her absorption ability. Rogue has an innate ability to understand how a power works as soon as she Absorbs it

For how long she holds the more deadly it get's. With Carol she ended up getting into a comatose state. Her absorption is so strong It can turn you into dust if she's not careful.
She's now able to absorb from 20 feet away making her absorption stronger than ever. Her absorption can even Nullify people's power when she absorbs them, She did this with Immortal Hulk when she turned him back into Banner before Hulk was able to come back, and even Exodus when she was Nullifying his teleportation. While Rogue's power seems pretty OP, It does have a weakness though it seems Marvel just forgot about this, since it hasn't happened in over a decade, but in the end a weakness is still a weakness even if it's dumb. Like Dr. Doom's weakness to Squirrels.

Carol Danvers powers.

Before Rogue joined the X-men, she was a villain and Absorbed Carol yada yada you already know the story.

Due to having Carol's power. Rogue had Super strength, super speed, flight, seventh sense, super invulnerability.

Wonder Man's powers
In Uncanny Avengers, Rogue permanently absorbed Wonder Man.

Due to this Rogue now has the abilities of Wonder Man...duh. Like Immortality, Healing Factor, pyrokinesis, shap shifting, Ionic body, Immune to decay, Can disperse Ionic energy from his hands or make it into solid constructs, Teleportation, Size Manipulation, Immune to phasingImmune to possession, Immune to gas and toxins, Immune to Gravity manipulation, Immune to Dr.Doom's mind controlpower drain etc etc.

Astral form

Rogue can turn into a ghost/Astral form. While in this form, she leaves her body. With it she Save's mutants form Emplate, and she can still use her absorption even when she's a ghost đź‘»

Transformations

Wonder Woman

Godforce
When Diana takes her bracelets off her full untapped god powers unlock. Giving her a huge amp in power.

Power

Wonder Woman

•Able to hurt Zod (as shown above)

Speed

•She's able to block bullets, in fact it's kinda her thing.

•Comparable to Green Lantern's who can travel  from the edge of the Universe In a matter of minutes (10-17 Quintillion FTL)

Durability

Gets hit with the power of 10 billions Galaxies (this is most likely hyperbolic)

Power

Rogue

Note: I'll be using feats where Rogue had Carol's powers & Wonder Man powers, just thought I clarify that before we get in. So her sections might be a bit more longer than normal.

WITH MS.MARVEL'S POWERS

(Joe could Destory an Asteroid twice the of earth, 4.35 Tenatons of TNT)

Punches Thor, but Thor isn't really damaged although he is impressed

WITH WONDER MAN'S STRENGTH

Beat Deadpool so bad his Healing Factor got overtaxed and he needed a cane. The only other characters to really mess up Deadpool's healing was Hulk.

NOW FOR FEATS WONDER MAN HAS DONE/SCALES TO

lifted 50K tons his lifting strength IT'S OVER 9000!!!!

•Should be Comparable to Hulk who was clapping Umar's cheeks so hard, he was Fucking with the Multiverse like how do you even make this up lmao.

Wonder Man says he's only a little behind Thor (This is before he unlocked his full power in the 90's)
•Should Compare to Hulk, Who punched a Time Storm

•should be comparable to Hercules, who held the heavens which was Infinite

Speed
WITH MS. MARVEL'S POWERS

Dodges Dazzlers Photon beams (As shown above)

WITH WONDER MAN'S POWERS
•Should compare to other Herald tier speed feats, like Thor Zooming across the Universe (4-9 Quintillion times FTL)
•Should be comparable to Ares, Who fights at Plank Length speeds.

Durability
WITH MS. MARVEL'S POWERS

WITH WONDER MAN'S POWERS

THE VERDICT
verdict time baby

WONDER WOMAN VS ROGUE WITH MS.MARVEL POWERS

So, at the time of the Death Battle. Rogue didn't have super strength so Death Battle just used Rogue with Ms
Marvel's powers, so let's just compare Diana with the version of Rogue Death Battle used and then current Rogue.

So the Rogue Death Battle used best scaling was the Joe Fixit meteor feat which is kinda fodder compared to Wondy, who could compete with Universe busters. Rogue could be lightspeed due to dodging Photon beams point blank, but Wondy was MASSIVELY Faster than Light. Diana had all the time in the world to Kill Rogue before she could absorb her. So in a Tl:dr Diana at the time of the episode stomped.

WONDER WOMAN VS CURRENT ROGUE

So, now with Current Rogue. Current Rogue could actually hang with Wondy, able to scale to Universe busters like Hulk and Thor etc etc.

While Wondy's speed was nuts, Ares Plank Length speeds that Rogue scaled to was enough for her to keep up.

For Wondy's Mind Control. Rogue could counter that, having Wonder Man's power's allowed her too resist Dr.Doom's mind control that was able to control the whole Avengers not to mention Dr. Xavier putting mental defenses inside of the X-men, giving Rogue a way to be Immune to Wondy's mind control.

While Diana's Soul attacks were pretty OP. Rogue's was able to be Immune to Leesh Soul manipulation which was able to bind souls, just like Wondy's lasso.
Rogue could still use her absorption even in her Astral form. So Rogue Could've just Absorbed Diana from 20 feet away so even if Wondy's Soul binding could hold Rogue. She was still able to absorb Wonder Woman.

But all of this wouldn't have mattered if Diana could take over Rogue's mind when Rogue Absorbed her, since that's Rogue's weakness. Thing is that sadly wouldn't happen. Rogue's able to absorb very strong psyche's like LegionHulk, and even Deadpool. If Rogue could absorb Deadpool's psyche then she could handle Wonder Woman. Can't forget she Absorbed Spiral as well.

If that's not enough She Absorbed Mephisto and even Absorb 8 Billion minds

Rogue could definitely absorb Diana's psyche.

While Diana's atom-slicing sword was pretty OP. Due to Having Wonder Man's powers, Rogue has a healing factor which was so strong that Wonder Man blew himself up and was able to reassemble himself. There wasn't really a way Diana could counter that.

Also there's the fact, the sword might not even cut Rogue. There's tons of empty space between an Atom.Seeing how Doomsday literally caught her sword, and didn't take any damage. It's very doubtful if Diana could actually cut Rogue in time before Rogue just absorbed her.

While Diana being the most skilled JLA member was a pretty good feat. Rogue could beat Wolervine while Powerless in a danger room session, now does this mean Rogue's more skilled? Oh hell no, but it does mean she could definitely keep up long enough to take the W.

So in conclusion. While Wonder Woman won back then. Rogue wins now, about Mid-diff.

There is one advantage that Rogue has, that I think everyone can agree on. She got to make out with Magneto and even got boned by him. God, I wish I could get boned by Magento...no homo. Rogue also has this, which means she stomps now.

So I guess this means the episode is right and wrong.

The winners are Rogue and Wonder Woman. See, we're all winners in the end.

So I gotta add 1 point to the right and wrong counter.

Ratio of episodes so far:
Right:6
 Wrong:2
