Did Death Battle get it right or wrong?: Naruto vs Ichigo

 

This is a series of blogs where I look at somewhat controversial episodes of Death Battle, today is Naruto vs Ichigo.

Summary

Naruto

As a child, Naruto was neglected and was only acknowledged as a monster and a demon boy who shouldn't be alive, let alone a Shinobi. He grew up without any parents, without the love of another person. In fact, Naruto has been entirely alone his entire life. So, it's no wonder he is always reaching out for people's attention. He always wanted someone to look at him and acknowledge his existence, even at the expense of his reputation and education. From his dejection, Naruto grew up to have a dream that he would devote his life to, no matter what happened. That dream was to be the Hidden Leaf Villages Hokage and have everyone acknowledge Naruto as the Villages best and strongest Ninja. A very difficult dream to accomplish, especially when he had nobody to support his ambition or to help him believe he could be anything he wanted. Until, he found that in his sensei, Iruka. Iruka had a very similar childhood to Naruto and he understands the shadow of pain Naruto lives under. As time passed, Naruto found two more people who he would fight beside with. His rival, Uchiha Sasuke and, Haruno Sakura. These are the two people who mean the most to Naruto from very different reasons.

Ichigo

 Ichigo was born on July 15th as the son of Isshin Kurosaki and Masaki Kurosaki, 15 years before he became a Shinigami. His sisters Karin Kurosaki and Yuzu Kurosaki were born a few years later. When he was four, Ichigo joined a karate dojo, where he met and befriended Tatsuki Arisawa. Though Tatsuki beat Ichigo in every match they had, she would help Ichigo if he was being picked on by bullies and cheer him up if he was upset.

Ichigo was able to see Pluses for as long as he could remember. He could see them so clearly, as a child, he could not tell the living from the dead. This resulted in him appearing to other people to be looking at deserted places and talking to himself. This caused people to say he could see ghosts, though when Tatsuki asked him about this, he denied being able to see them.

On June 17th, when Ichigo was nine years old, he and his mother were walking home alongside one of Karakura Town's rivers, which was swollen from heavy rain. Seeing a girl near the river, Ichigo thought she was about to jump into it. Unable to tell the difference between ghosts and living people, Ichigo ran towards her to stop her, unaware the girl was the lure of the Hollow Grand Fisher. Masaki tried to stop him, but he did not listen. After failing to grab hold of the girl, Ichigo lost consciousness for a time. When he awoke, Masaki was lying on top of him, covered in blood.[59] Starting the day after Masaki's death, Ichigo repeatedly skipped school to go to the riverbank where Masaki died. Tatsuki found him there, where he would stay from morning until night, wandering along the bank as if searching for his mother, squatting down if he was tired and then wandering some more.

One day, when Ichigo was twelve, prior to the Kurosaki Clinic opening, he heard the bell ring and answered the door to find a girl with her brother on her back. He had been in a car accident, and was covered in blood. The clinic did not have the equipment necessary to save him, and he died before an ambulance arrived to transfer him to Karakura Hospital. Sometime later, he learned the girl was Orihime Inoue.

Ichigo later entered Mashiba Junior High School. During this time, Ichigo finally defeated Tatsuki in a karate match, and had not had another match with her since. Ichigo regularly got into fights with thugs, due to the unusual color of his hair. During one of these fights, he received help from Yasutora Sado. Shortly after, Ichigo returned the favor when he rescued Sado from two gang members roughing him up. When the thugs later abducted Sado, Ichigo found them and knocked down their leader, Yokochini. Using Yokochini's phone to ring for an ambulance for each of the five thugs, he beat up all of them. After Sado was freed, they made a pact to protect and fight for each other.

Abilities

Naruto

Chakra

Chakra is a mix of physical,spiritual,mental energy and is one of the main foundations of the Universe. This allows the use of  Ninjutsu, Genjutsu etc etc. Every being has  Chakra, but they only have a limited amount that they can use, using too much can tire the user.

Ninjutsu

Ninjutsu are elemental attacks that use Chakra. Fire,Earth,wind,lightning,water,HEART.

You can only use so many Ninjutsu before the body starts to tire and lose Chakra.

Six paths Chakra

The powers used by the Sage of the Six Paths involve a very special, refined, and unique chakra dubbed the Six Paths Chakra (六道のチャクラ, Rikudō no chakura). This power was given by Naruto and Susgay. While the contents of this chakra are currently unknown, Sasuke notes that this chakra is needed—specifically—to harm the shadows created by Limbo: Border Jail and other similar techniques, indicating that this chakra is, in fact, separate from regular chakra. Konan has noted that the combined bloodlines of the Senju and Uchiha Clans comprise this power. Hagoromo himself later elaborates that his chakra is divided evenly between the bloodlines of Asura and Indra and that combining such power results in his unique chakra.

Shadow Clone Jutsu

One of the more forbidden Jutsu's. Naruto was able to use it while he was only a kid, with it Naruto made 1000 clones. Unlike normal clone Jutsu's, shadow clones are not weaker than the original.

 Rasengan

The Rasengan does not require any hand seals to use, relying only on the chakra control of the user. Once it is complete, it becomes self-sustaining, which does not give the Rasengan a definite limit like the Chidori. The compacted nature and moving speed of the chakra allows the Rasengan to grind into whatever it comes in contact with to inflict major damage. This tends to launch the target backward after being hit or, if the target is lying on the ground or being launched to the ground, the destructive force is enough to form a crater. In the anime, Naruto was able to throw the Rasengan, making it a mid-range projectile technique. It has been noted a few times that the Rasengan is superior to its counterpart, the Chidori, by Jiraiya, Kakashi Hatake, and even Sasuke Uchiha after seeing the after effects of the Rasengan on a water tower.

Luck

 Luck is actually a stat that can help in battle and it's shown that Naruto has some good luck.

Wind Release: Rasenshuriken

This Jutsu is a different form of the Rasengan. It bypasses conventional durability, Since it attacks your cells.

Flight

Naruto do be flying tho

Soul Manipulation

Naruto can interact with souls, like the time he basically played tug of war with it.

Healing Factor

Naruto can heal himself when whenever he's fatality injured. Like the time he healed from Sasuke stabbing him in the chest 

 

Transformations

Naruto

Four Tails Transformation

  Naruto loses most of his human traits in favor of a beastlike form. This form allows him to use powerful Jutsu at the cost of losing control of himself.

Sage Mode

During the Pain’s Invasion arc, Naruto first showcases his newly learned Sage Mode abilities, which allow him to harness the power of nature. This form boost his state to the ninth degree. All at the cost that he might turn into a frog. Not kidding.

Six Tails

Boasting a similar beast-like appearance to the previous four-tailed version, this state also includes the outer skeleton of the fox as Naruto becomes more like his tailed-beast counterpart, Kurama.

Eight Tails

Right after entering his six-tailed state, Naruto is overwhelmed by Pain’s Planetary Devastation Jutsu and is forced to harness his tailed-beast chakra and enters the eight-tailed state in order to escape. Almost complete, this form looks just like the legendary nine-tailed fox, but without its chakra-like skin on its torso and upper body. 

Nine-Tails Chakra Mode (Stage 1)

Naruto seeks out training to tame the nine-tailed beast sealed within him, Kuruma. After gaining control of the nine-tails, he is able to utilize its chakra to create a cloak around him while still maintaining full mental control over his actions. 

Nine-Tails Chakra Mode (Stage 2)

The Kuruma Chakra or Nine-Tails Chakra mode is similar to the previous Nine-Tails Chakra Mode, but with Kuruma’s chakra becoming a cloak to wear rather than an aura around Naruto. He can enter this state after he befriends the Jinchuriki and receives substantial amounts of power

Six Paths Sage Mode

one of the most powerful forms that Naruto can enter. The ability grants Naruto an abundance of new power and access to plenty of new powerful techniques. These new techniques include being able to sense emotions in people, Sensing danger, Able to sense Limbo clones even though they were in a totally different plane of existence.

Tailed beast form

In This form, Naruto and Kurama make peace manifesting the nine-tailed Jinchuriki completely while allowing Naruto to remain in control of its power. Its appearance is of the great beast itself but with the markings and coat of Naruto’s Jinchuriki form. 

Baryon mode

In his fight with Isshiki. Naruto used his Baryon Mode, boosting his stats tremendously. This form does drain Naruto however, and is dangerous to use.

Zanpakutō

Zangetsu

A Zanpakutō Spirit is a part of their Shinigami's soul, and their appearance and abilities are a reflection of this; as such, they also share their master's resolve. They exist in tandem with their master; they are born alongside their Shinigami, and die with them. A Zanpakutō Spirit's power is separate from that of their owner, and when a Shinigami draws on this power in addition to their own, their Zanpakutō will become even stronger. They dwell within the inner worlds of their Shinigami masters.

Abilities

Reiatsu

Reiatsu (霊圧, Spiritual Pressure) is the physical force/pressure that a person’s Reiryoku creates when released. Most Shinigami, Arrancar, Quincy and Bounts can manipulate the release of their Reiatsu. Every fight in Bleach is a battle of Reiatsu whoever has more, usually wins. It also can be used to negate your opponent's techniques. Flexing one's Reiatsu can potentially cripple the opponent, this is called a soul crush. Like existence earsure, paralyzation etc etc.

Getsuga Tenshō

The instant of the slash, the Zanpakutō absorbs and condenses the user's Reiatsu before releasing it at the tip of the blade, magnifying the slash attack, which flies forward. This slash takes the shape of a crescent moon or wave. Ichigo uses this ability without knowing its name several times, but later masters the technique during his Bankai training. As stated by Zangetsu, knowing the name of an attack heightens its power compared to its strength when the wielder does not know its name.

Bankai

An ability that only captains of the Gotei 13 are allowed to use. This boost the stats by 5-10 times.

Healing factor

Due to his Zanpakutō spirit Zangetsu, Ichigo can heal from things that would normally kill him.

Transformations

Shikai

Shikai  is the second (or first upgraded) form available to a Zanpakutō. To activate it, the Shinigami needs to learn the name of their Zanpakutō. This is not as easy as simply picking a name, for the living spirit of the Zanpakutō already has its own name.

Dangai

After training for months with his father, and with Zangetsu. Ichigo unlocked his Dangai form, making powerful enough to defeat Aizen.

True Shikai

After learning his heritage and finally gaining full control of his powers. Ichigo unlocked his true shikai. His True Shikai is shown to be better than his Dangai form.

True Bankai

A true Bankai is basically a stronger and better Bankai. Just like the true Shikai.

This is Ichigo at his strongest.

THE VERDICT

Verdict time, swag.

So first off, we need to know.

"Can Naruto even see Ichigo?"

Normally a Shinigami is invisible for those who don't have spiritual energy. Heck they straight up can't be touched. So can Naruto see Ichigo? Yes, Chakra and Reiatsu are both spiritual energy, so it makes sense to equalize them, they even share similar abilities. Like how the Soul Crush was similar to how  Kakashi flexing his chakra, made Sasuke want to kill himself. 

If Characters like Tatsuki and Karin see them, then Naruto Should be able to do the same. 

Now for strength, Naruto's 55 Yottatons made him 1.9x stronger than Ichigo, which wasn't really a big gap. Meaning that Ichigo could keep up with Naruto in power.

For speed, it was pretty even. Naruto's comfortably faster than Base Ichy, but with Bankai Ichigo would be on a similar league of speed with Naruto. Which makes this match super close, both Characters speed and power were nearly equal.

Since the stats are really close, wouldn't it make it 50/50? Well...not really. I think Naruto would win 6/10 times.

His versatility was way better than Ichigo. Like it wasn't even close. There's also him being better trained than Ichy. Though Ichigo's healing factor was better by a decent bit so Ichy had that going for him. 

 Though  Naruto's dura Negation made it so that he could bypass Ichigo's durability, and since Naruto can make 1000 clones he could just use his Rasenshuriken on him 1000 times over, that would overwhelm Ichigo's healing factor. There wasn't really anything Ichigo could do against that sadly.

There's also the fact that the amount of clothes Ichigo has, shows how much Spiritual energy he has left I know this sounds crazy, but since Naruto's attacks usually are big explosions that go everywhere.

Ichigo's clothes are gonna get torn and he's gonna get weaker when that happens. It's honestly pretty weird how this an Actual Win-con for Naruto, my god. Though it's probably not that good of a Win-con, since even with less than half of his spiritual energy left, he was still on the same league of a captain. So not the best Win-con for Naruto, but it is there and it's funny.

But the final thing Naruto had going for him was his luck.

Luck is a stat that is actually really helpful, and makes you win more fights. The bigger the luck, the bigger the winner you are, And Naruto's luck stat was really good. So yeah, Naruto's luck is actually a vaild Win-con for him.

"Does Naruto losing Kurama change anything?"

No, not really. While he's a little weaker and he has less Chakra reserves without Kurama.

The main points still stand. It would just be closer.
